Will there be
AVGAS available at Ellsworth AFB?
NO! Ellsworth AFB is not equipped to sell AVGAS.
Both self-serve and full-serve AVGAS is available at Rapid City Regional
(KRAP) located 6 NM South of Ellsworth AFB.
Why is
the arrival window so EARLY?
Ellsworth
has a full air show to perform, so we'll need all civilian aircraft parked
by 1030L. Aircraft arriving after 1600Z will not be able to land at
Ellsworth AFB.
Why
do I have to talk to approach?
Ellsworth
approach will be providing VFR traffic sequencing for ALL inbound Airshow
aircraft. By following the arrival procedures on this website, we'll
be able to ensure you a safe and efficient arrival.
What
about Departing From Ellsworth?
Departure
will be in accordance with the published procedures on this website.
All departures will be VFR. Fly-In departures will begin as soon as
possible after the Airshow performances. Please be patient and follow
the instruction of flight line marshallers.
Can I
bring passengers?
Of course,
bring the kids, spouse, mom/dad, and friends. As PIC you’ll be responsible
for your ‘crew’. Please leave any coolers, luggage, etc in your plane.
You’ll have access to your plane the entire day. Please lock the aircraft
(if you can) as the air show spectators will be allowed to walk through GA
parking.
