Now
we want you to have a good time during this year’s Dakota Thunder but we
need your help to make it a safe, secure and enjoyable event.
Following a few simple rules will make your
trip one to cherish for years to come.
We have an outstanding lineup of aerial acts
including the US Air Force Thunderbirds!
Q: What can I bring
to the airshow?

For your safety and those around you, please do not
bring the following:
Q: What can I expect
at the security checkpoints?
A: All items, including purses, diaper bags, etc. will be
subject to search and or x-ray at the checkpoints. Back packs, coolers and
large tote bags are not allowed. Signs will be placed at each of the
checkpoints reminding arriving spectators of these and other restrictions.
Security officials may refuse admittance to persons attempting to bring
these items to the airshow.
Q: I’m a parent.
Can I bring a stroller or a wagon?
A:
Yes. But all strollers and wagons will be subject to search and or x-ray at
the security checkpoints. Please bring only necessary items. Please do not
bring any large diaper bags or other large parcels.
We want to be able to get folks into the show
as quickly as possible and we need your help!
Q: Will I be able to
return to my car to store a restricted item?
A:
Sure thing!
Signs will be posted throughout parking lots
reminding people but if you forget, you may be allowed to return the item to
your car (as long as its not against the law!)
Q: I am flying in, do
these rules pertain to me?
A:
You betcha!
Please do not bring those items mentioned above
through security, and if you do forget, secure them in your aircraft and
don’t be caught walking around with them!
Q: What if I ride a
motorcycle, can I still get on Ellsworth AFB?
A:
Absolutely! All we ask is that you wear a DOT-Approved helmet while on
the installation
Q: Are there any
rules about driving on Ellsworth AFB that I should know?
A: Yes there is. Please refrain from using cell phones while driving on Ellsworth AFB. This helps ensure the safety of all on base. Anyone other than the driver can still use a cell phone.
Q: What else can I do
at the Dakota Thunder Airshow besides watch the aerial performers?
